I had the Red Chili Chicken, I ordered it hot. It had a great flavor and the dish was hot as requested. Fantastic flavor and a large portion as well. The service was outstanding. I definitely will be going back.

Hostess was not very professional and on the unfriendly side. There was a strong raw fishy smell at thier patio seating, and no candles even though it was dark. Servers are flustered, but very nice and are trying. The food was very bad. We love Thai and have eaten at many restaurants, and have to say, this is the worst. We returned the food and only paid for the soups, so I have to give them 2 stars for that!

M O.
Let's start with the positives since there are less of them, unfortunately. The decor is nice as well as the location. The hostess was pleasant to deal with as she was slammed for a busy Tuesday lunch crowd. I imagne PF Chang's down the street was just as busy with at least 2-3 hostess's instead of 1. The food tasted good and came out at a reasonable amount of time. However, some of what we ordered wasn't what we received. The bad news. I walked in to place a to-go order. I have tried many other Thai places in the area including Wild Ginger, Taste of Thailand and Thai Bistro to name a few. Even though I have not reviewed them all, I can tell you that they are all 4 or 5 star restaurants. At the time I came in the hostess had to seat at least 4 tables, clear a table and take care of another to go order. For this I gave her the benefit of the doubt because she did all of this with a smile. Being in the industry for over 20 years, I almost wanted to help her. Instead I saw one Manager float a busy restaurant and not lend a helping hand. If you lose control at the door, you've lost control of the restaurant. Any F&B Manager will tell you that. I placed an order for a lunch portion of Thai Basil Tofu and a lunch portion of Shrimp with Green Bean. I received a lunch portion of Thai Basil Vegetable with no tofu and a dinner portion of the shrimp dish as reflected in the wrong charges on my receipt. Both were supposed to come with fried rice and egg rolls as per the menu. They did not. Instead we received white rice as per the dinner menu. Someone forgot to tell the cooks it was lunch time I guess. I did not return the order because it wasn't so bad as to remake the entire order. The whole time (10-12 mins) I waited gave me a chance to observe the operation. As noted before, everyone was busy except for the Manager which is why many establishements receive poor ratings. No help from Management! Some just don't care. I may give them a second chance but it won't be for awhile. Not at least till they get a solid 4 stars!

This restaurant located in a nice area with other higher $$ restaurant. Even the name has "Thai", they have sushi and other variety of Asian dishes. I wanted to have Thai food and ordered Penan Curry. For the taste, I would rate 2.5 stars but I give three for this time for there variety menu so that each of us could have whatever they liked. This NOT the best place for Thai.

I have to admit that on the second visit, as much as the drinks were awesome, the waiter made a couple really dumb mistakes that make the negative reviews I've seen here a bit more understandable. He totally messed up a drink order for me, and brought white rice instead of brown rice, but he was very pleasant and I still gave him an awesome tip.

This place never disappoints! The food is good, affordable and fast. The lunch bentos and lunch entrees are excellent. We can usually get right in for lunch, get some tasty food and then get out. I bring business associates and co-workers here all the time.

Stopped in at Thai Basil again. Still love this place. Great food, great prices, very friendly staff. We will keep going back. This time we had the Pad Thai and Sesame Chicken. The Sesame Chicken is one of their best dishes, though I do continually recommend the Honey Wasabi Shrimp. If you really want to try something different and like some spice, go for it!

We were looking for Vietnamese noodle bowls and didn't want to make our usual trek to Federal in Denver so we gave Thai Basil a try. They didn't disappoint! Beautiful presentation with fresh grilled shrimp, I couldn't stop myself and finished the whole bowl. My husband really liked his ginger shrimp dish too. Beautiful dining room, although with it being such a large open room it can feel cold. We chose one of the more private enclosed booths which are cozier. Every time we dine here the dishes are very fresh and beautifully presented.

Overall this was by far the worst customer service I have EVER experienced. Our hostess, Annie, had terrible customer service skills the whole night. After not warning a friend of mine about the cost of extra food, he wrote on the receipt "please warn us next time about extra costs" after we left the restaurant and went to the parking lot she followed us outside along with a male friend of hers. They yelled at us for 10 minutes and threatened us. LITERALLY THREATENED US. As my friend got more upset the male, Aaron, reached down like he was going to grab a weapon. After this we backed away and left as they continued to scream at us. COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE SERVICE. I will never go to another Thai Basil again. Disgusting customer service. I am truly appalled. If you'd like terrible customer service and to be threatened and almost attacked after your meal then Thai Basil is the right place to go.

This location is not the same as the wash park location. The food here is not as good but the service is great. We had pad Thai and hot and sour soup. Both dishes were below average. The sauce on the noodles tasted like ketchup and the soup was oily and not very appetizing. I normally get the panang curry but decided to try something different. The curry is usually good. Stay away from the soup and noodles.

My time at Thai Basil was amazing. My server not only provided me with prompt service, but was also very friendly. We not only enjoyed the amazing food, but the servers liked engaging in conversation with us - which made the experience that much more enjoyable. The manager Aaron made sure that everything was okay so that we can enjoy a great dining experience. He not only provided us with good service, he provided us with free rice and desert because it was my birthday. This place is a fantastic atmosphere with caring people. I would recommend it to all my friends and family.

I don't know what they put in their hot and sour soup. But it the cat's pajamas. Best mix Asian restaurant around. Their Park Meadows locations is huge-so it doesn't look very full patron-wise. But don't let that fool you. Their curry dishes totally crush John Holly's and their spicy garlic edamame put's Sushi Den's to shame. Delish. Not to mention they have a lovely patio and excellent affordable drink choices. Go there. Be happy. Thank me later.

I had the Crab Rangoons to start and a Sizzling Shrimp and Scallops to finish. They weren't outstanding but not too bad either. I found the shrimp and scallops dish a bit too salty. The Crab Rangoons could use some more stuffing. Otherwise, they made for a decently appetizing dinner. The decor is definitely interesting, fodder for discussion.

This is now my favorite Thai Basil. I don't like the location, and it's not convenient for me, so I won't be back.

Holy cow! Really great food! We were concerned when our ornate booth contained a sticky table and food-splattered menu, but our server quickly cleaned up. He was very helpful with menu questions and stayed well ahead our drinks. Then the food came. I'd be willing to eat this stuff off butcher paper with a rusty fork! Pad Thai was perfect, but my wife's Spicy Mango Shrimp was out of this world! Serving sizes were way too big, but she ate it all anyway! We WILL be back!

Alex L.
Food comes out piping hot with flavor! Service is high up on the list as well. The servers are super nice and inviting. They make suggestions for your taste buds and tummies. Just remember, this is a Thai restaurant so you know how exponential the spice ratings can get when you bump up just one step! I didn't like their hot and sour soup so I just have to remind myself, I came to a Thai restaurant for a reason...to eat Thai food! We have been back a couple times and the atmosphere sets you at ease to enjoy your food. With a full bar, great staff and perfect vicinity from the mall, just drop by and you'll see what it's all about!

I've been away from Denver for several years and one of the things I missed most was the pineapple curry from Thai Basil. When I was away, I would search in vain for a similar pineapple curry. Others were too oily, didn't have any veggies, and just didn't match up. I finally stopped in tonight after moving back to the area and I am so happy to report that it is the same yummy goodness that I remember. Big chunks of bell peppers and onions, a subtle spiciness, slightly nutty. How I've missed this curry; years ago it was my comfort food when I was sick. I'm so happy right now, I don't know why I ever moved away. I promise never to leave again.

This is now my go-to place for excellent Thai food in the Denver area after a 5-star favorite changed ownership and went downhill 3-stars. Every single menu item I've ever tried here is amazing! This would include the satay chicken, moon harbor, lemongrass chicken, thai BBQ chicken, massaman curry. Well, maybe not everything - the sriracha beef, spring roll, thai basil chicken were just above average. They do have a large menu so it would take a while to go through them, especially since I keep on going back to my faves. Dined here a few times and the service was consistently good (even though I confuse them with an extra take-out order), food is elegantly presented and the ambiance is very nice with large tables and some booths. There's free & ample parking; once inside it doesn't feel like being in a mall complex. I love the wood carvings that is just perfect for gawking!
Decor is still nice but the place is getting a little worn and the service is best described as "tired" but pleasant.

I have had such better Thai food than this place offers! The food was tasteless and over-priced. No way I would ever go back-- just not worth it with so many good eating options in Denver.

First time trying Thai Basil for dinner. Atmosphere was cool, service was great, menu was what's expected. Wasn't a great dinner, but wasn't bad either. Had the drunken noodles, was a little too salty for my tastes.

I really like this place for lunch. The lunch combo boxes are yummy. I like the vegetable pad thai and salad. I've also had the curry shrimp coconut soup which is perfect on a cold day. The restaurant has an Eastern feel and is decorated in Oriental Art decor. I've always had very good service too.

I have been searching for a good Asian place in Highlands Ranch and this place is it! The Eggs Rolls are amazing and so are the soups! Big PORTIONS. The meat is about what you would expect for asian places out in Colorado, I would say a 4/5 but unlike most asian places I have found in this area, the meat is good quality! If you like asian food, it doesn't get much better than this in Highlands Ranch. Update: To-Go is hit or miss. They sometimes mess the order up or it seems like old food that's been sitting there for a while or a dish they screwed up in-restaurant and pawn off to people picking up.

The atmosphere is casual but elegant. The food is plentiful and delicious. The staff are friendly and cordial. Considering what you get I think the prices are cheap. I will definitely come back again.

Great Chinese! Okay Thai. By far, the best sesame chicken in town. Excellent hot & sour soup. I also recommend the California rolls. Very nice decor yet the prices are reasonable and the service has always been good.

Whenever I want Thai Food, I choose Thai Basil. This restaurant has intimate seating, they are booths against the wall with a decorative frame around it and a curtain so you can have privacy if you want. Actually, my boyfriend and I have had some of our most intimate, life affirming talks at this restaurant! There are also regular tables too but for some reason we sit at the same booth each time we go. The food is delicious, the service is great, very friendly, and portions are usually made for more than one person. If you get soup, you can certainly eat in one sitting but the meals are typically take-home. Enjoy!

We went here this afternoon and were very happy with the food. The Tom Yum soup was good, had a lot of spice to it so be wary if your not a fan of spicy food. I had the dynamite noodles, and would highly recommend this dish. Very hearty and flavorful. My significant other had the tequila lime beef and was also very impressed. Great job guys, we will be back when in the area.

Thai Basil is a Chinese restaurant trying to look like Thai restaurant. I'm sorry, but the food they serve at Thai Basil is not even close to the real Thai food when it comes to flavor, ingredients, and taste. I spoke to two Asian employees there and they told me that it is more Chinese based food than Thai. They named it Thai Basil, because Thai food is more popular than Chinese food. People who are conscious of health prefer Thai food over the greasy Chinese food. I will never go back there. If you want real Thai food, go to Swing Thai on Alameda by Wash Park. The food at Swing Thai is so much better. If you're in Colorado Springs, go to Thai Mint - across the street from Chapel Hills Mall. The owner is from Bangkok and her food is really good. I know a real Thai food when I see and taste one, because I've been to many different cities of Thailand several times.

Thai Basil has some good deals! We had 2 glasses of wine, an appetizer, two entrees, and a dessert for $28. Seriously good deals! The deals are good, but the service had some issues. My friend asked the server about gluten free options. The server told us none of the gluten-free selections were good. Wow! Not a ringing endorsement for the food you are about to order. That being said, the food was pretty tasty, but nothing extraordinary.

Yummy! When I enter this restaurant I feel like I have been transported to Asia. The decorations are beautiful and all the hand carved wood is incredible. The food is delicious and the servers are always friendly. They have a decent Gluten Free menu as well. The server brought my son out a bowl full of cherries when his cherry dropped on the floor. I took my picky parents here and they both loved their meals :)

They had a great Happy Hour - even on a Saturday(until 6)!! The food was pretty good and I was impressed with the wine selection. I would say it's a good place on a Saturday night to go if you want a cheap glass of wine with dinner and are in the mood for Thai. My fav was the egg roll - it was vegetarian.

Not great. I have eaten here several times but I am always disappointed. I have tried several dishes, sushi, apps, soups, salads, entres, nothing is terrible but nothing is really good. I'm done trying this place.

This last visit the service was TERRIBLE. We sat at the bar and she seemed annoyed that we would sit there. Everything was an effort for her. We ordered wine and water, ugh... Took forever. We got sushi - she didn't bother to bring us soy sauce, and when we asked for it, she took it from another patron - not asking if we wanted low salt or regular, my friend preferred low salt... again, another sigh and eye roll Seriously - we ordered sushi - it's not like we asked or expected A-1? Sushi was pretty tasty - but every time we wanted more or tried to engage her in her likes or dislikes it was just not nice. The food is still tasty and the location super cute, but again service is hit or miss.

Used to love this place, but is heading in the wrong direction. The food suffered in quality. The chicken in the soup & a Thai dish was terrible. I swear it had the skin on it. The beef curry dish didn't have even a hint of curry flavor. Called to discuss our experience with the manager & they offered a small discount on our next visit. I don't think so. No more $$$ being spent here.

Moving here from California, it took me awhile to find a Thai place I liked. I LOVE the whole Thai Basil chain. This location has the best service, consistently good food, and friendly staff. I no longer live that close to it but once every few weeks my boyfriend and I make the trip just for dinner.

This was an easy Thai place for me to go to, it was by my hotel and they were quick. They helped me with all my gluten allergies and we worked out what I could eat. I liked the flavor here, just enough spice and flavor on their red curry. Portions are VERY large...make sure you are prepared to share or save for lunch the next day!

When we want good, SPICY, comfort food this is our spot. Tonight was the first time we ever had to wait but I think it was because 5280 was going on. Our server was Frank and he was very nice and helpful. They don't have kids menu listed but they do have kids items. My 3 yer old son got the chicken teriyaki and it comes with veggies, rice and a pineapple ring w/ a cherry, his favorite part. He LOVES this meal! Eats all of it every time. The kids meals are $5.95. I ALWAYS get the pineapple chicken curry. Every time I think I am gonna branch out and try something new but this is just the perfect dish so I never do.... It usually comes with green peppers but not a huge fan of them so they always sub broccoli for me without any issue. It comes with a side of rice and I mix into the curry and BAM...perfection. It has a GREAT kick to it too. Perfect for cold nights! My husband has been very good about trying something new every time and has never been disappointed. ALSO they put fresh lemon slices in the water. LOVE that. Tonight we wanted to keep the bill low so we all stuck with water and with two adult meals and a kids meal our bill was $25.00. I'll take that for a great Thai meal out.

I have visited more than one of their locations, as is my penchant, when a chain exists, even a small one such as this. Park Meadows is closest to me and I have dined there several times. I have tried various dishes from Pad thais, Spring rolls, and a variety of their curries. The ingredients taste blissfully fresh, and there is a balance in the flavors which I expect from thai food. No one flavor overpowers the others, but they all balance each other and textures of different dishes have a pleasant mouth feel. Service is efficient, and servers are conscientious and graceful in preventing the order, requesting any additional needs whenever bringing something to the table. They don't hover over you, but sense when you need water or not, or need more tea, etc. Of the locations, I would say Park Meadows is the best, not because live nearer to it, but because it isn't as dark inside. While some muting at dinner service is normal, their other locations make me feel like I am eating in a theatre, and I like to view the presentation. The ambiance is a combination of the gracefulness normally associated with Asian culture, with beautiful woodcarvings adorning the entry and several areas in each location. Finally, though the food is prepared, and served well, it is an expensive meal, compared to the food costs for the ingredients, overall. This is a good restaurant chain, but When I spend $100 for lunch for two... It ad better be my wife dining with me. That rates it a 3.5 of 5 star based on value.

One of those restaurants trying to be a little of everything, which is especially confusing considering the single-cuisine name. On the menu: pad thai, panang curry...uhm...fried rice, vietnamese salad, gyoza, miso soup...WTF? I stuck with the green curry chicken, my usual Thai test dish. It was tasty enough, but had no relation to any green curry I've ever had - first, it was peanuty (huh?) and it was not very green at all...sort of brown-orange. Perhaps they brought me panang curry by mistake, or just mixed all the curry sauces together in one big pan to be safe...who knows? The decor here is pretty cool; no doubt. But it doesn't buy it an extra star.
(2)
Brian S.
I've eaten here numerous times. The inside decor is way cool. Certainly not what one would expect at Park Meadows. This isn't Thai food you'd get in SF or NYC, but for Denver it's quite good. Service has always been consistently good. This is a heck of a lot better than your local Americanized Chinese place. Again, probably not NYC or SF authentic Thai food, but worth a visit.
(4)
Carol T.
This is a good restaurant that offers good food for the price - won't bust your budget. There are plenty of options to pick from so you are sure to find something that will satisfy your palate. The curry has been good every time without the fear of burning your taste sensations for the range of flavors in the food.

We came here while leaving the mall with no expectations. The place was very cute with a nice ambient. I wasn't in the mood for a very large meal so I tried the large Thai Spiced soup with a side of steamed rice and it was very good! They brought me the steamed rice in the shape of a heart which I thought was an adorable touch. My boyfriend had their Thai Basil Tofu and he liked it. I do have to admit that the food was good, but it wasn't like whoa. I gave this place 4 stars because the service was very very good and it stood out to me. I had a good lunch here and would definitely go back.

There is nothing like being able to get decent Thai dishes and decent Sushi in one place. This place does the trick. I have to say, compared to other Asian places, the prices are really reasonable. We love this place and wish it was closer to our house, but try to make it there at least monthly. Love the Pad Thai.

Well it is pretty funny Denver has Restaurant week and the big deal is meals for 52.80 well Thai Basil advertised 2 for 28 with many of the same entrees and the only difference being with the 2 for 28 you share an appetizer, to me it was a no brainier. The 2/28 includes an adult beverage so it really is all you need to spend. We had the Spring rolls which were very good, I have the Thai basil chicken which was OK my wife had the Ginger chicken which was really good, carrot cake for dessert was OK but it had been in the Fridge for a little too long. Our waitress Macaela was super nice when we asked about the 2 for 28 she did not hesitate to say she would check with the manager and she took care of all of our needs quickly. Overall the 2 for 28 is a better deal than many of the 2 for 2 deals since it includes not only a drink but any beer and several wines.

Coming from California, I have realized that Colorado simply does not have Asian food. Everything is a fusion restaurant which I guess is good if you have one person that wants Thai and another that wants sushi. It just confuses me. This is near my practice and I have to say it is pretty good. They don't have the usual Thai dishes I order from my place back home, but what I ordered fulfilled my craving. Just enough spice without being overpowering. I will probably be back because of the proximity to my job. It looks actually really cute inside with the cabanas and decor.

Don't let the mall parking lot location fool you-- this is a surprisingly great Asian place. The beautiful wood carvings provide atmosphere and make up for any lack of authenticity. I've been for both lunch and dinner and tried, on various occasions, moon harbor chicken, spicy garlic chicken, Malay sizzling beef, and spicy garlic shrimp. I think the shrimp are my favorite, but all have been good. The fried rice and egg roll that come with lunch are tasty (lunch is a better deal than dinner). The gyoza appetizer is good as well. I've even liked the spicy tuna roll, and good sushi somewhere that doesn't specialize in it is always a pleasant surprise. Most fusion places can't pull off being a jack of all trades, but Thai Basil does it surprisingly well. Definitely try it out if you're in the Park Meadows area.

Not very exciting. The best thing this place has going for it are the cute little cabanas you can eat in. The server was nice enough, but forgot some key things, like chopsticks, napkins. The food was pretty mediocre and one in our party got their food completely wrong. The nigiri was fine, pad thai was so-so. The miso soup was pretty chunky, which I didn't mind but some people thought it was a little too much. I probably wouldn't go back anytime soon.

You say tomato, I say tomato. I love reading reviews - on the very same day 2 people can have wildly different experiences... I've been coming to this Thai Bail since they opened & always find the service to be prompt & courteous, the food very good, & the ambiance quite pleasing. With so few decent Thai choices in Highlands Ranch / Centennial / Lone Tree, this is a real stand-out for me.

I've had lunch here several times, and it's really quite good. They have affordable and tasty lunch specials as well as great dinner size meals and sushi. They have asian food from across the board, not just one country. I don't know what the other reviewers have eaten, but I've liked everything I've tried here. And the people I work with are usually eager to go back.....so I can only assume they're enjoying it as well. It's located in the parking lot of the Park Meadows Mall by California Pizza Kitchen and Earl's. The inside is decorated pretty well, and has a nice ambiance.

"Jack of all trades, master of none" comes to mind. In addition to Thai food, Thai Basil's menu also offers Chinese, Japanese, and Vietnamese (pho). I wish they would just pick a specialty and stick with it. Overall, the food was only okay, with the exception of their Sesame Chicken, which was quite good. Their Chicken Fried Rice was very bland, and their California Rolls were very small and dry. Crab wontons, okay. Spring rolls, okay. Cheesecake, okay. Sichuan Chicken, yelch. Like I said, they should just pick one type of food and master it instead of going all over the place with mediocre food. Otherwise, change the name to reflect the variety.

They brought a glass out with a hair on the outside. Set me up to feel grossed out the rest of the meal. The booths are covered in dust. The floors are dirty shortly after opening. I can only imagine how the keep the kitchen. The food is average. Maybe a little below.

I had not been to Thai Basil previously, and a few of us decided to hit it up for dinner. To start I had the ahi tuna with ponzu - which was quite strong and tart. A dip in soy sauce though set the tartness off well. And you can't beat $1.50 Blue Moons to wash everything down! I did also enjoy the Pad Thai; I've been looking for the perfect representation of this dish and thought this measured up fairly well. Not dripping in sauce, the chicken was tender as well. I most certainly enjoyed my dinner...and good service as well. Friendly!

The best Thai Basil location! The atmosphere here is sooooo fun to look at. Your neck will hurt from staring at the ceiling and turning to look at the ornate decor. It makes your dining experience feel as if you're in Thailand, sorta. The usual Thai Basil's are small and are known for their authentic Thai Cabanas, but the restaurant at Park Meadows is a sight to see inside. I totally recommend the Thai BBQ Chicken, that's it. Here's why... -Cuz its goooooood!!!! "Mmmmmmm" literally I make that noise -it has just enough sweetness/spice -has the BBQ crisp -whole chicken with dark/white meat -do away with the hard pieces you might bite, just ravage through everything else lol Don't forget to rub the Buddha's belly at the front door, upon leaving the restaurant. You want good luck right?!? ;)

I love the look of this place. All the Asian decor with antiques interspersed throughout the room. The have these beautiful enclosed booths that line the walls (wood and cloth). They make for a more private dining experience. Now the food, is another thing. It is basic. I have had the pad thai here and it is overwhelmingly peanuty. The noodles tend to be sticky too. They have great lunch specials, but if you go here know that you are really going to a sit down slightly nicer fast food Asian spot. It is what it is and it is fine for a quick lunch time meal.

Gosh, this place was terrible! Perhaps because I have several great Thai place where I live, I must be spoiled. They did have a good deal, 2 for $28. I got the spring rolls, which had a gummy consistency. The sauce it came with was good too. I ordered the Pad Thai, which is what I always order when I go to a new Thai place as a way of judging how good it is. Hands down, the WORST Pad Thai I have ever had! It tasted like I was eating a bowl of noodles doused in sweet n' sour sauce. Absolutely terrible.

Thai Basil is basically the PF Chang's version of Thai food (and coincidentally, there is a PF Changs about 100 yards away). I wasn't expecting very authentic Thai food considering this place is in a mall parking lot, and it turns out that my thoughts were exactly on point. That being said they do a good job of serving what people like. They have a decent variety of imported beers, including Singha and Chang from Thailand, Saigon from Vietnam, and 3 of the top Japanese beers. The menu is quite extensive and includes most of the Thai dishes that anyone would like. The food is served very mild. When we ordered, the waiter didn't ask us if we wanted the spice level to be mild, medium or hot. So, my dish just came out mild, which was a bit of a disappointment (I got the Royal Chicken). Luckily there is Sriacha on each table if you want to spice it up. Even though the dish came out mild, combined with some Chang beer, the quality of the food is decent. The big surprise when we arrived here was the decor. They have these incredibly huge carved wood sculptures of dragons, the Buddha, and the great wall. Also, we sat in a 'private booth' which was enclosed in what I can best describe as a delicately-carved wooden bed frame draped in a silk sheet. Definitely added to the atmosphere even if the food was just above average.

I think this is my first Thai Basil in all of the metro area; I have heard good and bad about some locations. This one was very posh interior, seating was ample and felt private, that could have been the odd lunch hour I took. Ceilings were high, everything seemed well, typical for Park Meadows Mall? Had the Hot and Sour soup with my meal, it was on point. I tried one of the daily lunch specials, it was spicy but with plenty of flavor, loved it. Look forward to trying it again!

We went here today for a birthday lunch, and I wasn't necessarily impressed, but I didn't leave upset about anything either. The service was mediocre for having a party of 8+, and the food was all right. The atmosphere is fun, and they have a wide variety of different foods, but I wouldn't rate it as amazing. I am super picky when it comes to my Asian and Thai food, so I wasn't too impressed by this place.

The authentic Thai flavor is off as the food is really sweet and full of coconut milk. However, this is not a bad thing - It actually makes for a very tasty meal. Authentic Thai food can be a bit salty. I have to admit, I have regular cravings for Thai Basil.

Good service. Too bad the food is terrible. Lack of flavor. The coconut shrimp was like overcooked 70's butterflied shrimp with no discernible coconut. Their Penang curries are gloppy. The pad Thai is bland. The Denver location is awesome I don't know why this one is consistently bad.

As a rule, I enjoy the Thai Basil as a chain but this particular store, I had some bad experiences at. My co-worker and I went in for lunch. When we entered, we bumped into three groups of two or more people standing in the foyer waiting to be seated. Being generally patient and nice people and enjoying each other's company (as well as making fun of each other for being sore from our early morning workout), we waited, cracked jokes, and waited... for 10 minutes. The people who were there before us had been waiting a spell too. Several had even taken off their coats (bad sign) while waiting. We were never even acknowledged. No one said, just a moment, our tables are full but we will get you seated in a minute. Nothing. Finally, being sore and starting to lose patience, we walked our (sore) butts over to the bar and sat down. Now we have no problem sitting at the bar but we were annoyed that no one even noticed we were there. After another 5 minutes or so, we were acknowledged and waters were brought along with menus. Another few minutes passed and the waiter came by. He tried to stay long enough to greet us and leave but we grabbed him so we could order. Our lunch break time was really starting to dwindle. The other groups were still standing, unacknowledged, in the foyer. We placed our order. He seemed nice but really didn't know the food or the menu well. Finally, a few minutes into waiting for our food, a woman said to the other people waiting that it would be a few minutes before she could seat them. We got our soups and salad pretty fast. The miso is pretty good but it has mushrooms so just an FYI. I enjoyed the seaweed salad but not enough to spend $6 on it again. It was "plumped up" with baby greens under a handful of seaweed. Finally, as our sushi came out, the hostess began seating the other folks. We had come in after them and finished apps and they were JUST being seated. Wow. My friend order tuna sashimi. The tuna was brown and looked suspicious. We asked how old it was and our server asked the sushi chef. They said it was a day old... it still didn't look great. The sushi was mediocre but cheap enough that it makes a nice place to go when you can't get to a good sushi place. We tried to pay and really, it was just silly. Everything this server did was slow and inefficient. Overall, a pretty annoying experience.

Nice bit of Thai / Asian food near the mall. We've found the servers to be great and quite helpful in getting gluten-free options for my wife. Their 'hot and spicy' should clarify: to the American palate. I found the spicy entrees flavorful, but not very hot. Curries are nicely done here and gluten-free. They are accommodating if you want to make changes - like different veggies. I've also enjoyed their stir-fry dishes. Haven't ventured into the Japanese yet. The Thai Iced Tea is great - but I'm an addict in general for this stuff. The food has always been flavorful, freshly prepared with good quality ingredients. This is a great place to try new dishes - and I think I will on my next visit...

Let's be honest here -- this is not the Thai Basil that we know and love down on Alameda. We saw the Groupon for this location and jumped at it. So we stopped in for lunch on Saturday. Um, there's a reason they were running a Groupon. Disappointing doesn't even begin to cover our experience. First, the entrance smells like a toilet. I'm not sure if it was the new mulch outside the front door or just being in the wrong place at the wrong time, but it was disgusting and I *almost* turned around to walk away. (think i should've) Then we stood inside the door at noon with 10 others, waiting for the hostess. The place was empty, so not sure why we weren't being seated. The service was terribly slow. My Tequila Lime Beef was decent - the lunch special comes with an egg roll and fried rice. But, that's not an egg roll. that's a spring roll and there IS a difference. The hubby got the peanut curry chicken and it was okay. it came to the table cold though. so the long and short of it is that i think next time i'll just head into the food court at the mall and eat panda express knowing i'll leave happy.

I had to downgrade this place based upon our visit last night. We still like it there- maybe they had an off night. Our server vanished after he put our food down on our table. Just vanished into thin air. I had sushi and miso soup. The sushi was really small, so I'll probably refrain from ordering sushi there again. We still like their food and will return...

The decorations are CRAZY! It's called "Thai Basil", but I seriously think the decorations are all chinese-based and...not sure why they named it "Thai Basil" when the range of food is anything from Thai, Viet, Chinese to Japanese! You definitely pay for the ambiance and decorations. I guess that's the one thing that is very uniquely different about the restaurants here. They don't necessarily specialize in one type of asian food, cuz I guess the demand is less here than in CA, so in one place, you can definitely get to try a lot of things. Which means that the food is decent, considering the variety they have...just a bit pricier than what I'm used to, but VERY Americanized. Haha.

I have been traveling quite a bit to Centennial this year, so I've had the opportunity to check out numerous restauarants in the area. And Thai Basil has become one of my favorites. I originally went, because I was craving pad thai. When I went inside, it turns out it's not solely a thai restaurant, but an all asian food kind of place. I have tried some of their sushi rolls--though not authentic, they're pretty yummy. I've tried some of the entress, more noodles than rice dishes, and they've been pretty good as well. Sometimes a little heavy on the sauce to noodle ratio, but oh well. It's not my mom's cooking, but it's good enough for a meal. Overall, no it's not the most authentic asian food out there, but it's decently priced and a nice "go to" place for me in a town that I am not all that familiar with. I look forward to when it'll be nice weather and I can eat outside.

No one greeted us when we came in. The servers were poorly trained. They only gave us one menu at first so we had to share. Off to a bad start. Didn't keep our glasses full of water. The crab wontons were pretty good though we don't think they were fresh. They were probably premade, frozen and then refried for us. I guess that's okay though because we still liked them. I got the Dynamite Noodles. Gross. It was more like noodle soup drowning in a sea of creamy sauce. The flavors didn't work well together at all. Meg got Thai Noodles with Peanut Sauce and it was decent. The server was kind enough to substitute my dish out for something else. Thank goodness. Took forever to bring our check. The badness continued. Wouldn't recommend this place!

Location: The location is really nice with some super sweet pieces of furniture inside, not to mention a really awesome upper balcony that overlooks the rest of the place. Food: OK- heres where the problem lies. The food is extremely bland- while the portions are slightly large and the veggies and everything look good, the taste is just not there. No spice, not too salty, not to peppery, its just a big blank that I cant quite explain. As for the "hotness" level, this places levels are non-existant. If you ask for hot, you might as well add some crushed red pepper cause you'll get ZERO spice at all. I even attempted to order "burn your flesh off hot" just to see what I would get and again, the spice was non-existant. Presentation: The food comes out is really awesome designer plates with pieces of parsley and other little add ons to make it look really good, so this place has this part down pat; now if they could just improve the food... Service: Another downfall was their service. The waiter was not very friendly andor interested in what we were asking. At first he didnt even offer the levels of "hotness" until we asked, and trying to get a glass of water was like trying to catch a child that didnt want to take his/her cold medicine... They can definitely use some training for their staff. Atmosphere: The atmosphere is great. Open space, tables at a good distance. The decor is really amazing and well worth a look if you stop in here for a bite. My Final Opinion: Im sorry but I just have to say, "Seriously? um no- dont even waste your time-" The food is super bland, the service is so slow i could grow a garden, slice and dice the stuff, fly to Thailand and get private cooking lessons, fly back, and still not have a glass of water at the table. Their levels of "hotness" are WAY off. you ask for hot, and u might get a sweet and sour.... The only good thing about this place is the location- the inside is awesome- probably good for a cheap tween date or something, but dont expect anything special... if ya do, you'll be disappointed....

I read the bad reviews due to service that others gave this Thai Basil location, but I've been here 10-20 times and have always had great service. Great lunch spot for me. An outdoor patio when the weather is nice and they are always quick with the food during the lunch hours. This location also has a sushi bar. Food has always been good and consistent. No complaints and I will be back.

3.5 More asian than Thai. Having been on a longer business trip this time around, something Thai sounded good but wasn't in the mood to drive far (hotel is across the street from mall). Saw the Thai Basil sign and decided to give it a try. A rule of thumb for me is if a chinese food places sells sushi, or a sushi place sells chinese, etc, than it's not going to be the best at anything. Thai Basil was not bad. The sushi was average. The Hot and Sour soup I surprisingly liked. The Pad Thai chicken was okay....just add enough siracha/hot sauce and you can make it all taste similar. A coworker had a garlic shrimp if i recall correctly that didn't look or taste that great. It's not bad and the ambiance was kind of cool.

Ughhh, I've been so spoiled by Thai Flavor and Thai Pepper II in Aurora. Anyways, my family and I were pretty much starving to death after a good search for the perfect belt for a dress. After stumbling out of Park Meadows Mall, we decided to venture over to Thai Basil since we haven't tried it before. The interior is quite exquisite w/intricate wood furniture and carvings and such. We were directed into some sort of "booth" that has a inconvenient piece of food that you have to step over in order to get into the booth. Not only that, but the booth has wooden pews that are covered with slippery pillows to pad your derriere. After slipping around on the pillows for 10 minutes, I just sat my butt down on the hard wooden pew. Now, I understand that this is Americanized Thai, but ughhh. The food wasn't really all that good. They do have a good dinner special from where you can choose from a specific meal and get soup or salad and a dessert. I got the Thai Basil Chicken and it's pretty much chunks of chicken, tons and tons of basil in the saltiest sauce ever created. Thank goodness they give you rice to soak up some of that saltiness. As for the dessert, we got two little slices of cake that were about as dry as the Sonoran Desert in Arizona. Anyways, I'm not really a big fan of this place as you can tell. I'll just stick w/the good Thai food in Aurora

We really like this chain- my husband is addicted to the thai fried rice. And, deceptively, for a restaurant being in a mall parking lot, attached to a CPK's, this restaurant is drop dead gorgeous inside. Lots of natural and burel (sic) woods. We like the way it looks so much we almost had our wedding reception here. Food is pretty reliable, though I've never had sushi here. Also, they have the same happy hour as at least the Alameda location- 50 cent micro brews and imports, and 25 cent domestics. You really can't beat that.

If you're from Denver, you'll probably love this place. If you're from places where good Asian food is easy to come by, you'll probably be satisfied with Thai Basil if you don't expect authentic Thai food. I ordered the Basil Chicken and Pad Thai (2 things I regularly order from new (to me) Thai places). The basil chicken was pretty good and the Pad Thai was way too sweet but still pretty good. My boyfriend ordered the lemongrass pork. I thought everything tasted good BUT nothing tasted like actual Thai food. Oh well.

This place is TERRIBLE! This place caught my eye since a small chain in Sunnyvale, CA that I love, has the same name. I assumed it was the same chain. Boy, was I wrong. So, I walk in for dinner for 1. The place is pretty empty, but they insist on seating me by myself in the middle of the restaurant. I get a menu that only has Thai & Vietnamese on it, but I glance over my shoulder and see that there is a sushi bar. I ask for a sushi menu and one is begrudgingly brought to me. I order the green curry and a spicy tuna roll. The sushi was terrible. The tuna was not even close to being fresh and had no spice whatsoever. Then comes the curry. Brace yourself..... it had JALAPENOs in it!! WTF??? I've heard of fusion, but this was ridiculous. After I yank the jalapenos out of the curry, the dish was pretty bland and boring. I got about half way through it and realized I had no interest in finishing it. When I asked for my check, I asked about what the heck was up with the jalapenos. I was told that the dish was supposed to have thai chillies, but since the cook couldn't find any, he put jalapenos in it. WTF? So, long story short, just don't. There are much better restaurant within steps of this place (CPK, Red Robin, PF Changs, Champps, etc.)

What a disappointment. While the interior at first glance is very rich with all the carved wood and cool seating areas, if you look closer there are cobwebs clinging to the canopy above your table and the seat cushions are threadbare showing exposed foam. We could have gotten past that if the food had been good, but no such luck. The chicken in my son and husband's dishes smelled gamey and tasted unseasoned. It's like they poach plain, unseasoned chicken and then toss it into whatever sauce the next dish calls for... Just horrible.

Despite some pretty bad reviews, I liked it. Went there on a date tonight and ordered the drunken noodles with tofu. It tasted like asian comfort food! tasty and filling but nothing super special. Still, between that and the affordably-priced wine list, I was a happy girl.

I love the Thai Basil in the Highlands, but this place was just meh. We sat at the bar, thought we were never going to be served, and then the food was BLAND! Mostly, I was peeved at the bar tender/server. I know they get busy, so having to wait wouldn't be a big deal, if he would have been polite about it. He wasn't, but continued to give the other customer at the bar, various wines to sample (made me question if he was really that busy, or just was being rude to us.) Anyway, I have been here a few times before and it was always a three-ish/four. Won't be back to this one, will stick to the one in The Highlands.

Thai Basil is an above average American style fusion Thai restaurant. While there are clearly Thai favorites on the menu, there are also hints of other cuisine, such as sushi and edamame. For starters, we had the Asian Hot Wings, which are wings in Sriracha sauce, the Lettuce Wrap, large pieces of lettuce, very good. For entrees, we had the Panang Curry with Chicken, made very well, the Sriracha Beef, really do like how they add a Sriracha twist on everything, and the Eggplant, not enough eggplant. All in all, good for what it is.

Had an enjoyable meal here last nite. Everything was very good, though my son complained that he couldn't taste the currey. I think it's just that this Thai currey is a little more subtle than he's used too. My wife had the drunken noodle, a Chinese dish, and she was happy with it, though it would have been better with a lower sauce to noodle ratio. It was a little too flavorful. My basil chicken was tasty, well seasoned, and also could have used a little less sauce. The fresh shrimp spring roll consisted of only shrimp, noodles, basil, and wrap, and was surprisingly tasty with a strong basil flavor. The peanut sauce was understated, but went well. To top it off, the dinner special for 9.99, which included soup and dessert, is an amazing bargain.

Ooh la la...I was surprised when I walked in this location. Pretty swanky. I've been to the other locations and this one is quite fancy. As mentioned in another review all of the wood carvings and decor are gorgeous. The food was nummy, I loved the sesame chicken. I had a dinner special that came with a complimentary dessert, and it was OK. Just a plain little cake kinda dry but everything else was good. The dinner specials are $9.95 and it includes either soup or salad, entree and dessert. Everything else is also reasonably priced. The service was fantastic.. Smiling faces. My water was constantly being filled, empty plates were promptly taken away, the check was also very prompt. I will definately be back here next time I'm out on a shopping trip at Park Meadows.

Thai Basil is one my favorite restaurants! I have NEVER been disappointed with the food or service there -- and we have been there many, many times. I love the seared scallops in sweet chili sauce and my husband loves the cashew chicken!

True that this location is larger and may appear nicer than the other locations of the chain, I found the service to be slower and the food to be overall more bland. This is in comparison to the Alameda location, which I'm a regular diner and even more frequent delivery customer. Obviously the food is not bad, I just prefer to have it a little more on the spicy side.

We went to Thai Basil in Lone Tree for something different and new. What we got was a nice looking atmosphere and friendly staff, but the food was lack luster and VERY salty (probably from MSG). Both my wife and I woke up the following morning feeling as if we had swallowed a salt lick. (Brick of salt for cattle to lick). Unless you are salt deficient, you might find better fare elseware. I am giving 2 stars...1 for the atmosphere, the other for the staff.

This is a regular family destination for us. It's very conveniently located, has consistently tasty food, and is never so packed (not even on Saturday nights) that you have to wait an excessively long time for a table. Upfront warning: this is not Thai food. It's "Asian Fusion." It's really good AF, but don't go expecting normal Thai. I'd recommend going for lunch, as the prices are better. I'd say this place gets 5 stars for lunch - you get a lot for your money - but just 4 for dinner. In my experience the Thai-influenced dishes are the best (the curries and such), then next are the Chinese dishes (they have awesome sesame chicken), and the sushi is the bottom rung. It's not really bad, and I've never felt ill because of it, but it's not their best stuff. The atmosphere is great, we took some guests from out of town here and they were very pleased. Service is usually really good, had one or two occasions when it was just "okay."

This place was, AMAZING! My friend and I loved every part of it. The decor was really great! The wood carvings were fantastic and all the little decorations were a nice touch. We especially liked the light fixtures by themselves and against the wood in the ceiling. I liked how there were two levels. The chairs were were really comfy and intricately designed. The food! I got the drunken noodle dish, which was soooooo flavorful and filling! My friend, the vegiatrian, especially enjoyed her dish which was a vegtable and tofu dish. She really liked the tofu, and she doesn't like tofu. She was like, "You know a restaurant is good when the tofu is done right. It doesn't even taste like tofu!" The portions were actually like guy portions! It was good. The desert was pretty good too! It was like a mini, fruity flavored tiramisu! The presentation of the entire meal was really, really good! I loved the plates and bowls we were served on. That was a definite plus! The waitstaff where very attentive. That was a plus. Also, fore what we got, wasn't that expensive at all! Between the two of us, it was only $22! That was amazing! My dish was only $8.50 and I got an ice tea, and my friends was only $10. We really want to go here again in the near future!

I was there with a friend today and had a lot of fun. The atmostphere was great and I really enjoyed the decor. The restaurant had antique bed frames that were made to boothes for seating. However, once I tasted the food, I knew instantly that I probably won't be coming back for the food (okay, maybe for the atmosphere w/ friends, but not for the quality of the food). I ordered the following: - traditional Tom Yum Goong Thai soup: it was too spicy that I could not even have it. I sent it back the waitress was kind and brought me the coconut soup instead. It still did not taste 'Thai' but at least it was not too spicy (and I can take spice). - Pad Thai was ordered - but again, the food did not taste 'Thai' - it tasted like Americanized noodles. In general, food was not authentic and service was so so. I had to ask the waitress for chopsticks. You would think she would bring us 2 pairs after my friend asked for it but no she did not.

Ok so let me preface this review with the fact that the GM got us a bit wrecked so excuse the tangents, if any. The interior of Thai Basil is pretty impressive with its wooden carvings proliferating the joint. This use to be Z tejas Mexican food once upon a time but you would never know unless you were from the area. So in the ambiance department Thai basil gets an A plus. We, a party of three, decided to get sushi since its like crack and I am hooked and needed my fix. I was not disappointed. Everything was fresh, presented artistically, and made my tummy happy. I think this is another restaurant that has awesome sushi. The service was a bit lacking but I know the place has had some staff turnover so I wont be that hard on the server. We were asking him about red wines that might go with sushi. He seemed baffled at first, then suggested pinot noir. I am no sommelier and he could have made something up and it would have been ok but he seemed totally confused about a suggestion. Then in the middle of letting me pick a wine, he went to another table without a word........strange indeed. I think the guy 420'd since he kept forgetting little requests. its fine if you burn but i don't want to ask for water 3 times. I would say this place is good for dates, groups of hipsters, families, and basically anybody that likes Thai, sushi, and Chinese favorites. Do not give the GM license to pick your drinks.....................:)
we recently moved to denver and are on the hunt for a thai restaurant! thai food is among our favorite cuisines so our palates have high expectations. thai basil was unfortunately not even close to meeting them. the curry was too sweet, and the pad thai and spring rolls were not good. flavorless and seemingly missing ingredients. our waiter was SO nice though. that earns an extra star, imo. we decided that the curry was not edible and asked if we could just have it sent back and we would split the pad thai (trying to not be heartless by sending it all back) - the manager actually got defensive and told us that he "usually doesn't take things back, and that is how their customers like the curry, but that he would do it this one time" uh, not to worry, manager dude. that will be the only time we will be eating there. :(

I tried this place a few years ago and never went back. Please don't call this Thai food. My pad see ew was very generic and I would say it's worse than the quality that I can get from the nation wide chain like Noodles & Company's pad thai. I think my friend said there is another location that might have been better. When I went, the owner and the people working there were not Thai either. I am Thai and can hear the servers and owner walking around. That's the first sign that the food isn't authentic Thai food.

The food is TERRIBLE!! Hot and sour soup has enough spice in it but have a weird smell like re-used/aged oil smell. I tried one of their Thai dish and the dark sause they used is way too sweet. It has absolutely no Thai or spicy favor. Services is not great either. I asked the server what sauce is used for a Thai dish and how is cooked. The server was not able to answer it and had no interest to find it out either. The decor inside the restaurant looks very nice and seating is nice too. That's why I give 1 star. If you go there for the FOOD, don't waste time.

I was pretty disappointed with dinner here though I only tried the yellow curry chicken entre. It was very watery and lacked that sweet complex flavor. The problem is I'm desperate for thai food and the service and ambiance were great. The bar tender is a real sweetheart. I had a mai thai cocktail to start that was on the watery/sweet side. I'll go back to try something else on the menu since the overall experience wasn't bad.

It is OK. Its in Park Meadows at the mall-- that is clue number 1. It is very decorative, but that doesn't really compensate for the food-- it isn't very flavorful. Its quiet, you can blend into the private booths, but again, its in the mall. If you can find another place to eat thai, then maybe you should go there instead. It is good for large groups though and for lunches during a busy work day.

Thai Basil. This is the best rstaurant I have been too from the chain. Very awesome decor. Huge intricate hand carved wooden art inspires throughout. I love their Thai iced tea. Lots of decent food. Not to scream for but not to miss for a mid-range dinner option. Nice staff.

We love the food, excellent thai. Note that almost always, we get the curries and a veggie dish so we can't say too much outside of that. My wife did venture to the lime beef or something and it was ok. Something I could have easily made at home and been just as unenthusiastic about. Great atmosphere with the wood carvings. The one area of complaint is that the service is sometimes a little poor.

The only reason I ended up eating here was that a friend from London was attending a meeting at the Inverness Conference Center and I agreed to rescue her from the hotel; not being familiar with this area, we drove to the Park Meadows mall and found this place. Having never been to another Thai Basil in Denver, I can't really compare, but this seemed to be a flagship restaurant with somewhat exaggerated decor (how is it possible to suspend dozens of round, tiered lanterns from the ceiling and still not have enough light?). The semi-private booths with carved exteriors were also eye-catching. Alas, we were seated at a table that wobbled (eventually fixed by the waiter, who for some reason confused the Saigon beer with the Singha beer despite my friend's highly articulate speech). Perhaps the over-the-top furnishings are meant to distract from the food; I ordered sesame tofu which was tasty (and came on a cool triangular plate) but served over a dull and limited assortment of somewhat overcooked vegetables. However, it is hard to argue with the price - $10 for a soup, entree and dessert.

Gorgeous Atmosphere - Delicious Food. Thai Basil was a complete surprise. We visit the Park Meadows Mall frequently, and love to dine at favorites like Cheesecake Factory, Grand Luxe Cafe and P.F. Changs. It was actually on this occasion we were trying to go to Changs, but with a 45 minute wait, we decided to move on. We popped into Thai Basil for the first time and were completely surprised. Though the outside is somewhat unassuming, the interior is gorgeous. Beautifully decorated with tons of lanterns, exquisite wood carvings and a warm, cozy, quiet atmosphere. Our first thought was, is this place going to be expensive? But alas, prices are more than reasonable. To the reviewer that complained and said you 'pay for the decorations' - seriously? Are you comparing this to Panda Express or something? The prices are more than reasonable - downright cheap really. Lunch combos around $7.50 and Dinners for $8.50-$10 - Yes its more for heavy seafood entrees and some of the more complex dishes, but to call this expensive is a joke. In my honest opinion, and with my own restaurant knowledge and experience, the prices are way too low to compensate for their smaller clientele and huge overhead. ANYWAY - back to the goods. I started with the avocado sushi roll - it was simple, as expected but perfectly prepared, and deliciously fresh and flavorful. My husband's soup was a little too spicy, but that's to be expected of some of the 'hot and spicy' dishes. I had the Thai Basil Tofu ($8.50) and my husband had the Thai Basil Chicken ($9.95). Both were a generous portion with bok choy, chili, water chestnuts a a side of rice. The dishes were a little overly spicy - we have pretty soft palates, but the flavor was outstanding. The food is fresh and tasty, and very reasonable. We will definitely be returning to try more. They also have a full bar with an enticing list of special drinks. On another note - to those that complain about the restaurant's identity crisis - the description you're seeking is Asia Fusion - a popular style where many types of asian cuisine are offered. They have plenty of Thai dishes to satisfy, along with very familiar Chinese and Japanese dishes (think sesame chicken, won ton soup, sushi, teriyaki and tempura). As a final comment - we waited for a booth because they are so inviting and private - we typically love booths. While they are usual and beautiful, enclosures carved out of wood with drapes of fabric, the seats were fairly uncomfortable. I'd opt for a table with cushy chairs next time. Overall though, great experience - highly recommend.

This place gets 1 star for their nice service. And minus a whole lot of stars for their food. Why would you put POTATOES and TOMATOES in your Tom Yum Soup??? So disappointing.

I've eaten here several times. And while the food is very good, and a nice ambiance, the service is spotty. I've gone in and had good service, I've gone in and had bad service - usually the wait staff covering far too many tables. The spotty service is what prevents this restaurant from getting 4 stars.

Good Food, but horrible service.. Not sure of the many rave reviews on this place, but if you are expecting good service, then I won't recommend this place. We were given a table right next to the door then we had to ask for a better one at the back. The server didn't want to spend any more than 5 secs taking our order, not sure why he was in such a hurry. In fact he passed by our table to take the orders, didn't bother to actually wait and talk to us! Hubby ordered Thai fried rice with Tofu got veg fried rice instead (yes there is a difference between the two) . I ordered Thai eggplant which came loaded with mushrooms that I don't eat, server didn't let us know despite the fact that hubby mentioned 'no mushrooms' in his dish. At least expected the waiter to ask 'mushroom ok for you'. Both of us ate our food , we liked the taste and we hate wasting so (I had to pick out the mushrooms though). They were in such a hurry to take away the plate that they asked me if I was done while I was midway, just because I got up from the table to calm down my baby. I was already tired of the unwelcoming restaurant that I said yes. The waiter gave us the check the moment the plate was taken, didn't even ask us if we found everything ok , which they do in most places. oh and yes, waiter never cared to ask us how spicy we wanted the food to be.. one size fits all i guess. I am not sure if it was seeing us with the baby that made the waiter hurry up (yes, i like quick service but don't like people hurrying us up). Will not go back even though the food was good nothing great though about food. There are plenty other Thai restaurants that serve great food with better attitude.

(2)M O.
(2)Sachiko J.
(3)Richard C.

(5)Jeff N.
Everything here has always been excellent! Highly recommend.
(5)Greg W.
(5)Robin B.
(4)Ryneika K.
(1)Jonathan D.
(3)BrentandMichelle W.
We have been back to this restaurant a few times. Last time I ordered the Drunken Noodles- delicious
(4)George J.
(5)KC N.
(5)Ling L.
(3)Micah L.
This is now my favorite Thai Basil. I don't like the location, and it's not convenient for me, so I won't be back.
(5)Trint L.
(5)Alex L.
(4)Audrey L.
(5)M S.
(4)Proteus D.
Wasn't overly impressed. Came here with the wife for a quick bite on an unplanned 'date night'. The place was pretty empty. The décor is pretty over the top and it didn't feel very authentic from the start. The calamari was straight out of a packet and pretty bland. The garlic shrimp was pretty average take out fare. OK food but not very exciting.
(2)Guy C.
Decor is still nice but the place is getting a little worn and the service is best described as "tired" but pleasant.
(2)Owen N.
I have had such better Thai food than this place offers! The food was tasteless and over-priced. No way I would ever go back-- just not worth it with so many good eating options in Denver.
(1)Kevin A.
First time trying Thai Basil for dinner. Atmosphere was cool, service was great, menu was what's expected. Wasn't a great dinner, but wasn't bad either. Had the drunken noodles, was a little too salty for my tastes.
(3)Td H.
(4)AK J.
(4)Casey M.
The atmosphere is casual but elegant. The food is plentiful and delicious. The staff are friendly and cordial. Considering what you get I think the prices are cheap. I will definitely come back again.
(5)Chris H.
Great Chinese! Okay Thai. By far, the best sesame chicken in town. Excellent hot & sour soup. I also recommend the California rolls. Very nice decor yet the prices are reasonable and the service has always been good.
(4)Amy D.
Enjoy!
(5)Andy S.
(5)Norm W.
(2)Aanil P.
I wanted to give 4.5 but it did not let me. 5 for food and service was horrible but I can take bad service over food. Good food
(5)Alexis G.
(4)Kristin L.
(4)Kristen D.
(4)Lara M.
Not great. I have eaten here several times but I am always disappointed. I have tried several dishes, sushi, apps, soups, salads, entres, nothing is terrible but nothing is really good. I'm done trying this place.
(2)Nicole W.
(3)Matt P.
Every time I come to HQ in Lonetree I come here for dinner. Great food awesome atmosphere, great location and reasonable prices. Great beer selection. Nice people. What more do you want?
(5)Jenn B.
I had my first ever soft-shell crab here, and it made me a fan for life! The ambiance was fun, the food was good, and the service was friendly. I am eager to come back again.
(4)Jennifer L.
(2)Gerald K.
Pretty lame version of Thai.
(2)Kiki M.
Moving here from California, it took me awhile to find a Thai place I liked. I LOVE the whole Thai Basil chain. This location has the best service, consistently good food, and friendly staff. I no longer live that close to it but once every few weeks my boyfriend and I make the trip just for dinner.
(5)Anastasia U.
(4)Kate O.
(4)Lou F.
(3)Dan B.
(2)Brian S.
(4)Carol T.
This is a good restaurant that offers good food for the price - won't bust your budget. There are plenty of options to pick from so you are sure to find something that will satisfy your palate. The curry has been good every time without the fear of burning your taste sensations for the range of flavors in the food.
(3)Hungry Gen D.
(4)Matt G.
There is nothing like being able to get decent Thai dishes and decent Sushi in one place. This place does the trick. I have to say, compared to other Asian places, the prices are really reasonable. We love this place and wish it was closer to our house, but try to make it there at least monthly. Love the Pad Thai.
(5)Fred F.
(4)Sarah G.
(4)Samantha E.
(4)Ray Ray K.
(2)Kimberli R.
They Take Reservations!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great food and generous servings. Nice quiet atmosphere, They have upstairs dining......
(5)Mike F.
(4)Cassandra F.
(4)C L.
(3)Jason R.
They brought a glass out with a hair on the outside. Set me up to feel grossed out the rest of the meal. The booths are covered in dust. The floors are dirty shortly after opening. I can only imagine how the keep the kitchen. The food is average. Maybe a little below.
(2)Renee W.
Friendly!
(4)Claire B.
You want good luck right?!? ;)
(4)Jessica J.
(3)Kristin K.

(3)Steve W.
The authentic Thai flavor is off as the food is really sweet and full of coconut milk. However, this is not a bad thing - It actually makes for a very tasty meal. Authentic Thai food can be a bit salty. I have to admit, I have regular cravings for Thai Basil.
(4)Scott V.

Had a very nice lunch here.Had the chicken cashew and it was very good. Service was friendly, atmosphere was quiet enough - no complaints.

(2)Valerie G.

(2)Jesse B.
Nice trendy place and the food is very good.

(3)Steven G.

(5)Karen B.
Thai Basil is one my favorite restaurants! I have NEVER been disappointed with the food or service there -- and we have been there many, many times. I love the seared scallops in sweet chili sauce and my husband loves the cashew chicken!
(4)Ed P.
(4)Tom D.
No sushi on mondays, :-/

We went to Thai Basil in Lone Tree for something different and new. What we got was a nice looking atmosphere and friendly staff, but the food was lack luster and VERY salty (probably from MSG). Both my wife and I woke up the following morning feeling as if we had swallowed a salt lick. (Brick of salt for cattle to lick). Unless you are salt deficient, you might find better fare elseware. I am giving 2 stars...1 for the atmosphere, the other for the staff.

Ok Thai food

Went here for dinner on a Saturday night. Seating was almost immediate and they had great drink specials. We split some sushi as an appetizer. Didn't knock my socks off, but it was good. My entrée was pad thai. Again, wasn't the best I have had (they didn't give any heat options), but was still good. The service was very good. Drinks stayed full and everything was delivered promptly and pleasantly. Really a 3.5 star rating would be more appropriate.

we recently moved to denver and are on the hunt for a thai restaurant! thai food is among our favorite cuisines so our palates have high expectations. thai basil was unfortunately not even close to meeting them. the curry was too sweet, and the pad thai and spring rolls were not good. flavorless and seemingly missing ingredients. our waiter was SO nice though. that earns an extra star, imo. we decided that the curry was not edible and asked if we could just have it sent back and we would split the pad thai (trying to not be heartless by sending it all back) - the manager actually got defensive and told us that he "usually doesn't take things back, and that is how their customers like the curry, but that he would do it this one time" uh, not to worry, manager dude. that will be the only time we will be eating there.

(2)Fel C.
(1)Dana M.
(3)Kristn K.
(3)Gregory A.
Thai Basil. This is the best rstaurant I have been too from the chain. Very awesome decor. Huge intricate hand carved wooden art inspires throughout. I love their Thai iced tea. Lots of decent food. Not to scream for but not to miss for a mid-range dinner option. Nice staff.
(4)Jonathan S.
(4)Ilona F.

Outstanding place that always delivers. Truly unique dishes, great service and wonderful atmosphere.

Sitting at the bar gives a panoramic view and makes you feel cozy in the large barn. We loved the service and the food.

Quite good. The decor is nice, as are the semi-private booths. Go here pretty frequently for lunch. Their lunch menu is very reasonably priced and the dishes are all solid. Friendly and helpful staff.
